Looking back at the history, BTDC is firstly established on November 12th in 1973 by based on the Government Regulation PP No. 27/1972. With the shareholder of the Government of Republic of Indonesia (Co. Minister of Finance) and presented by the Minister of Tourism, Post & Telecommunication. The target of establishing BTDC is to support the government in the Economic & National Development (in this case, creating the employment and collecting the foreign exchange) TASK and DUTY
By having a concept to plan & prepare as well the area become a Tourist Resort; BTDC is trying to do the best, especially in building and developing the entire area infrastructures (Telephone, Electricity, Transportation, Water treatment, Securities, Fire bridge) The investors are welcome, therefore, BTDC is also ready for giving such assistances for them during design, preparation construction and operation. In operational, BTDC is also playing its role in maintaining and operating the infrastructure and security of the resort as well as controlling the regulation. Of course, as the result, BTDC gets the compensation and assessment.
1973 The Nusa Dua Master Plan, developed by Pacific Consultants International, was formulated, and the Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) established to bring the plan to fruition.
Some 300 hectares would be developed from scratch. An entire complex of infrastructure facilities had to be built first - plant nurseries for landscaping, a water supply system, an electrical power supply system, sewage treatment and waste disposal plants, storm drainage and irrigation systems, telecommunications, and roads. These infrastructures were to be shared with the local populations. The BTDC designed guidelines insisting that all buildings would be low-rise, low density, and in harmony with Balinese architectural practices.
